Agriculture Summer Programs
Agriculture Summer Programs offer diverse modes of education for pre-college students seeking knowledge in this classic STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) category. Residential and commuter programs combine classroom learning, hands-on laboratory work and field study. Curriculum centers around various topic areas within agriculture, including agribusiness, sustainability, forensic science, food processing, data science, horticulture, and farming technology and techniques. College faculty and expert instructors drawn from academia and industry mentor participating students through coursework and field-specific research. Along with more traditional agriculture knowledge, students are exposed to facets of environmental and ecosystem science. Extracurricular activities focused around the outdoors such as hiking, camping, canoeing and gardening typically accompany the academic portion of summer programs.
